The moment you get on stage your evolutionary heritage triggers one of two possible physiological reactions: fight or flight. Your heart rate accelerates, your breathing frequency goes up and maybe you feel the urge to run away or shrink to the size of a mouse, so you can quickly escape the situation. Don’t worry, there are a lot of ways to cope with this. Constant practice can be one of them.
Bamberg Toastmasters offers you the possibility to exercise your speaking skills and to gradually get used to the feeling that the audience’s attention is on you. The Story of “Downsizing”
“Downsizing” tells the story of Paul Safranek (Matt Damon) and his wife Audrey (Kristen Wiig) who struggle with financial issues. At a college reunion, they meet Dave and Carol Johnson, a couple that has been “downsized”. “Downsizing” describes an irreversible process scientists have invented to shrink humans to a height of five inches. The process is promoted as a solution to overpopulation and as the key to a stress-free life. Paul and Audrey decide to be “downsized” and start into a life-changing adventure.
